How we coordinate international logistics at 2DL
When you contract international logistics with 2DL, we assign an account executive who coordinates the entire operation, from booking the vessel at origin to delivery at your plant. You don't manage the agent in China, the shipping line, and the customs broker in Mexico as three separate relationships. We handle that coordination.
Tracking is active: we don't wait for the bill of lading to arrive before starting the clearance process. As soon as the vessel sails, we prepare the import documentation so it's ready on arrival. That cuts the time your cargo sits in a bonded warehouse and reduces demurrage costs per container.

How long does a shipment from China to Manzanillo take?
Typical transit: 28-35 days from Shanghai to Manzanillo. During port congestion, mainly October through January, add 7-14 days.
What does a door-to-door service include?
Coordination of transport at origin, vessel space booking, shipment tracking, customs clearance in Mexico, and ground transport to your warehouse. One point of contact for the entire process.
Can you handle hazardous or refrigerated cargo?
Yes, we coordinate refrigerated cargo and IMDG-classified cargo with specialized carriers and shipping lines. It requires a specific quote and additional documentation depending on the type of goods.
FCL or LCL for importing from Asia?
If your cargo exceeds 10-12 m³ or 8,000 kg, a 20' container in FCL is usually more economical. Below that, consolidated LCL is the better option. For frequent low-volume shipments, LCL with regular consolidation gives good cumulative costs.

For companies with occasional operations (1-3 shipments a year), the model is on demand: we quote each operation individually. For companies with regular volume, we offer a dedicated account with continuous tracking and negotiated shipping line rates.

Once you're set up, adding a second or third origin to the same account usually doesn't require renegotiating the whole relationship, just confirming the new lane.
